at your own risk!!!). Note that documentation is sometimes provided in
German language but the software itself uses generally English language. If
there are specific questions, comments, feature requests or bug reports please

Windows 9x/NT Applications |
 |
One of my programs, Font Xchange (161K), is a dynamic font
management utility for Microsoft Windows. |
 |
And there's another 'useful' utility that I have written - Flush 98
(44K). This program lets you remove all recently used entries from the
Documents folder with a single click. Updated for Windows NT and TweakUI
compatibility! |
 |
Here's one for people who are looking up articles in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base (e.g. using the TechNet CD-ROM) and want to get the URL for
the article in order to access it on the Internet. Well, KBUrl (30K) is
actually quite focused on supporting end users and most likely not very
useful for end users themselves. |
|
DOS Applications |
 |
For those of you who are fooling around with different operating
systems, here's a little helper: CopyBoot (6K) will save and restore the
FAT boot sector of your hard disk. Important: Do NOT use with FAT32
or NTFS formatted disks! |
 |
I've written a small DiskCopy (18K) utility which uses EMS/XMS
memory to duplicate disks. In addition, it is capable of reading and writing
floppy image files. |
 |
Several years ago, I have written a compact BBS system called QuickBOX
(244K). Its major features are remote configuration (full access to all
commands), small footprint (fully installed uses about 500K of hard disk
space) and an integrated DOS shell (emulation). There's even a library API
for those who want to write QuickBASIC tools to enhance the system. |
 |
QuickPOINT is an offline reader for the mostly Germany-based BBS
network using the Zerberus software. This package (295K) introduced the
offline concept for this BBS network and paved the way for even more
advanced software of its kind (e.g. Crosspoint, which can also be used with
Fido and other systems). QuickPOINT may also be used in combination with the
QuickBOX software above and the Groehl mailer below. |
 |
Groehl! (53K) is an add-on for QuickBOX, which allows some QuickBOX
systems to be used as a small network or to create an endpoint in the
Zerberus BBS network. It features somewhat limited email routing
capabilities and newsgroup distribution. Since QuickBOX itself is not a
Zerberus compliant system, you need to use QuickPOINT (or other Zerberus-compliant
offline reader software) in order to post messages into the Z-Netz
direction. |
 |
Most NT users would like to be able to edit the boot manager
configuration easily. So did I and wrote this NT FlexBoot Setup (32K)
utility. Note: It doesn't work with Windows Vista's new boot manager! |
 |
When I was still spending lots of my time on the DOS command line,
I was looking for the 'ideal' editor. It should conform to the user
interface of QuickC/BASIC which I was using most of the time. And because I
couldn't find such a program, I wrote my own editor QuickEDIT (146K). Note:
Due to QuickBASIC string storage limitations the maximum file size is
limited. |
 |
QuickEDIT features a context-sensitive help programming language
which uses the QuickHELP (55K) compiler to create the final bytecode that
QE interprets. |
 |
I was a long time user of SHOW, a MASM sample application. When I
was learning C, I wrote my own SHOW (15K) application which uses dynamic
memory allocation with a double-linked list. It allows to load large files
using up to all available DOS memory. |
 |
QuickMENU (62K) is actually one of my very first PC applications. It is a
shell for launching programs while still maintaining the flexibility to run
DOS commands when required. Run with /HELP switch for option information and
use F1 for some additional help. Use F2 to see some hardware info and press
F3 thru F8 to interactively change the screen colors. |
|
Developer's Scrap Box |
 |
For developers, here's a toolkit (148K) for developing DOS based
applications featuring a user interface closely resembling Microsoft's
QuickC/BASIC. One of its primary features is a cooperative multitasking
model allowing to print in the background, trigger timers... A word of
caution: The toolkit isn't extremely well documented, but includes source
code for a sample application which is commented in English language. It's
intended for experienced developers using Microsoft C 6.0, QuickC 2.5 or
QuickC for Windows 1.0 with large memory model. Using OLDNAMES.LIB, it
should also be compatible with C/C++ 7.0 and Visual C++ 1.0. If requested, I
may also provide libraries for other Microsoft C compilers. Please note that
the library has
not been ported to Win32 character mode, thus requiring a DOS box on Windows. |
 |
Microsoft BASIC programmers who also use other Microsoft compilers
such as C
or FORTRAN will have wished for a program like CL or FL. Well, here it is! Compile and
link (14K) with a single program. |
